Hello! I'm Tina, the owner of Tina the Postpartum Doula and a dedicated advocate for new mothers and their families.
My Professional Journey and Expertise
I am deeply committed to supporting families during the "fourth trimester." My credentials include being a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist (CBS) and a Postpartum Doula (previously certified through DONA International).
In addition to running my own practice, I am a proud co-owner of The Juniper House, the first Postpartum Wellness Center in the Hampton Roads area, located right here in Chesapeake. This center is a testament to our commitment to providing comprehensive, holistic care for new parents.
The Personal Story Behind the Passion
My journey into the world of maternal support is rooted in personal experience and a desire to fill a critical gap in care.
It all began in 2006 when I supported my sister through her experience with postpartum depression. At the time, I didn’t fully understand the depth of what she was going through, but I was there.
After becoming a mother myself in 2008, I vividly realized that a robust, compassionate support system was often missing for many new mothers. That feeling of potential isolation ignited a passion within me. I decided then that I would dedicate myself to helping mothers in any way I could.
In 2016, I became a Certified Postpartum Doula with DONA International, and by October of that year, I was actively working with mothers, helping and guiding them through the transformative period of the fourth trimester.
My Family
I am a wife to Kevin (married in April 2004) and a mother to four beautiful blessings: Kristopher, Karalena, Vanessa, and Zachary. My family is my foundation and the constant inspiration that helped me find my true calling: helping other women navigate this amazing transition of life.

I’m a CAPPA-certified postpartum doula serving families in the Hampton Roads community. After years in childcare, I discovered my passion for supporting parents through the beautiful yet challenging postpartum season. My goal is to create a safe, empowering space where families feel seen, supported, and confident as they settle into life with their newborn. Every family is unique, and I tailor my care to meet your specific needs. When I’m not supporting families, I love exercising, reading, and spending time with my cat Mochi, friends, and family. I’d be honored to support you and your family during this special transition.

Ashton Minick
Hi there! I’m Ashton!
A bit about me: I’m just a mama in my 30s, trying to raise these babies. I am married to a Sailor and we have 5 kiddos. I love Jesus, reading, brownies, and 1800s anything and of course, babies!
Currently working on my Newborn Care Specialist while welcoming baby #5 in November 2025.
My goal is to help you feel capable, connected, and worthy. Welcoming a baby is an amazing blessing, and I want to help you feel the best you can during these major changes. Some days, your biggest need may be talking about all the changes ; other days, there may be a few loads of laundry that you might want some backup tackling- that’s okay, I’ve got you. Whatever the case, my goal is to help anchor you, to be with you in the highs and lows, and to bless your home and family in this new season.

My name is Symone, a certified birth and postpartum doula with a passion for supporting families through one of life’s most transformative experiences. My mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based care that empowers you to make the choices that feel right for you and your family.
Whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, I’m here to offer emotional, physical, and informational support every step of the way. I believe every birth is unique, and I honor your preferences and values in creating a calm, safe, and nurturing space.

Ari Jackson
Ari is coming on board as our dedicated Sibling Doula. As a Sibling Doula Ari will focus on providing specialized childcare during labor and birth. This service offers parents incredible peace of mind, knowing their older children are happy, cared for, and secure while they bring their new baby into the world.
Though she is a graduating senior this year 2026, Ari has fantastic experience with children of all ages, from infants to toddlers. Her passion for kids is clear, and we're so excited for her to share that with our clients.
Ari will also be training under Tina to become a Postpartum Doula with our team in the future.

To be a good fit for our team:
You must be a SOLE practicing postpartum doula. We are looking for individuals who specialize exclusively in the postpartum period, as this is the primary focus of our entire organization.
You must share our dedication to offering non-judgmental, evidence-based physical, emotional, and informational support to new parents.
